About Us
At Potter’s House Sheffield, our story is one of transformation, faith, and the power of the gospel.
Our journey began with Pastor Freddie Kono, whose life was changed by an encounter with Jesus. Raised in a Catholic home, he knew about God but lacked a true relationship with Him. Though he participated in religious traditions, his faith was more of a routine than a personal commitment.
Everything changed when he attended a gospel concert during his university years in Derby. Confronted with the reality of his sin and the truth of the gospel, he made the life-changing decision to surrender his life to Jesus. Though the path was not always easy, he remained committed to his faith, growing stronger through consistent church attendance, discipleship, and service.
After years of spiritual growth in Derby, Pastor Freddie felt God’s call to start a church in Sheffield. In 2013, after eight years of discipleship, he was ordained and, alongside his wife Natalie and daughter Ava, stepped out in faith to plant Potter’s House Sheffield.
Potter’s House Sheffield is a Bible-believing, Holy Spirit-led church that stands on the truth of God’s Word. We believe in the transformative power of the gospel, as stated in Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” We also believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to guide and empower believers, as seen in Acts 1:8: “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
For over a decade, we have seen the power of God at work—transforming lives, performing miracles, and bringing hope to the community. At Potter’s House Sheffield, we believe that no one is beyond God’s grace. Whether you are searching for purpose, struggling with life’s challenges, or simply curious about faith, we welcome you with open arms.
Come as you are and embark on this incredible journey of faith with us. It would be a blessing to have you!
